ABSTRACT:

The aim of this article is to show the meaning of the concept of hospitality in Derrida´s texts. Taking the distinction between conditioned and unconditioned hospitality as a starting point, i.e., between rigth and justice, the recently decesed French philosopher articulates an ethic and political body of thought which, far from forgetting the demands that come from the other, the stranger or the different, makes of the alterity the central point of his speech. Through this subject, and coherently with his previous work, Derrida has sought to make clear to us the positive character of this thinking.
