El siglo XX ha sido definido por Eric Hobsbawn, el historiador marxista inglés como el siglo de la pasión política. También habla del siglo XX como un siglo corto, desde la I guerra mundial hasta la caída del muro de Berlín. Hoy en día, desde el nuevo siglo recién comenzado, podemos mirar al siglo pasado con nuevos ojos. Ambos hechos marcan un antes y un después. ¿Que consecuencias podemos sacar de ellos? ¿Es el siglo XX el siglo americano y el triunfo de las democracias liberales? ¿Estamos en una nueva época, o por el contrario, vivimos una resaca como resultado de la borrachera política del siglo pasado?

The 20 th century has been defined by the marxist historian as the century of the political passion. He also considers the 20 th century as a short century: from the first World War to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Nowadays, from the new century recently started, we can take a new glance at the former century. What are the consequences we can learn? ¿Is the 20 th century the American century and the victory of liberal democracies? Is this the end of history, a new era, or on the contrary, the consequences of the political hangover from last century?
