ABSTRACT:

Luis Cencillo approaches the traditional issue of the “a priori” knowledge specifying what is common under the diversity of meanings that the term “to know” has. He redefines it in the light of anthropology and deep psychology, to conclude that the nucleus of the cognitive process lies in the self-assimilation carried out by the human “subject”, who constructs it as such, both from a phylogenetic and an ontogenetic point of view. As opposed to Modern Age theories which, dragging the Greek essentialism, overvalued an, in fact, non-existent subject, Cencillo proposes that the “a priori” of any act of knowing lies in the cultural crystallizations, integrated in each of the actors, who are constructing themselves over such process of self-assimilation.
