RESUMEN:
A continuación abordo las condiciones intelectuales de la ciudadanía democrática y en qué medida las nuevas tecnologías de la información y la comunicación contribuyen a promoverla, como muchas veces se afirma. Frente a ello defiendo que es una concepción particular de la educación, la Educación Liberal, la que verdaderamente forma ciudadanos y la verdadera condición para un uso inteligente de Internet.
ABSTRACT:
In what follows I explore the intellectual conditions for democratic citizenship and to what extent new technologies may foster it, as many times is said. Instead, far from the myth of technological democracy, I argue that it is a particular idea of education, Liberal Education, what actually brings up citizens and makes them able to use Internet intelligently.
