RESUMEN:

            En este artículo se plantea un tema que en los últimos años ha adquirido una extraordinaria actualidad; la posibilidad de lograr una paz efectiva y justa en el mundo. Kant, filósofo ilustrado y buen conocedor de los defectos y virtudes de los seres humanos, aboga por establecer unas condiciones objetivas, jurídicas, políticas y morales que permitan soñar con realismo en que los Estados abandonen el militarismo y las ambiciones territoriales y se centren en la búsqueda de la cooperación y de la hospitalidad entre los pueblos. Una de las condiciones que Kant considera imprescindible para conseguir la paz perpetua es la abolición de los ejércitos, ya que no se puede luchar por la paz cuando los Estados siguen gastando ingentes cantidades de dinero en armamentos sumamente destructivos. La utopía kantiana sigue siendo una necesidad ética, política y jurídica y por eso Kant ya habló hace dos siglos de crear un derecho internacional capaz de obligar a todos los Estados a buscar honestamente   la paz.

ABSTRACT:

            This artticle sets out a subject which has become highly topical in the last few years: the possibility of achieving a just and effective peace in the world. Kant, philosopher of Enlightment, and a great connoisseur of human being virtues and faults, advocates setting up objective, legal, political and moral conditions which allow to dream about the reality of abandonment of militarism and territorial ambitions by the States and focus on the search for cooperation and hospitality among nations. According to Kant the abolition of the armies is an indispensable condition in order to obtain perpetual peace. Fighting for peace is not possible if the States continue spending colossal amounts of money on highly destructive armaments. Kantian Utopia is still an ethical, political and legal need. Therefore, two centuries ago, Kant expressed the need to create an international law obliging all States to search honestly for peace.
